Located on a dike on a side branch of the river Zaan, you can sail straight into the nature reserve! Rural living at its best, but with the amenities of the Zaan region within reach; and 20 minutes by car from Amsterdam.

Here you live in the middle of the seasons; in the summer you can sail here beautifully. In autumn it is a pleasure to walk or feast in the Wormer and Jisperveld. In winter you can be the first to skate on the small, shallow ditches. And when spring arrives you can see the lambs frolicking on the meadows, which you can look at from the water villa; because every window is a "room with a view".

The picturesque Oostknollendam, between Amsterdam (20 min)  and Alkmaar (15 min) , is like an old Dutch postcard. The Black Swan floats on the calm water of the local canal. A water villa that will impress you forever thanks to its beautiful interior!

The Watervilla is very tastefully decorated and fully equipped. There are three bedrooms, two terraces, a kitchen with dishwasher and a large living room with flat screen TV. The decoration is a mix of modern furniture and many curiosities. The best thing about this unique place to stay is of course the location. Floating on the water you can see the ducklings with their babies passing by. The cows in the surrounding pastures are also a treat for the eyes. Passers-by in boats wave kindly. Peace and mindfulness are guaranteed on the Zwarte Zwaan. It is therefore difficult to understand that you can be in the center of Amsterdam from this place within 20 minutes.

Surroundings:

From the Black Swan Water Villa you can take lovely walks in the open nature. The Zaanse Schans is ten minutes away by car. The center of Amsterdam 20 min and Alkmaar 15 min. Also Bergen 30 min and Zandvoort 30 min are easily accessible. This is the place for ultimate peace and urban conviviality !

Where can you find a place in the world where every window is “a room with a view” !?

At the end of the village of Oostknollendam, a 20-minute drive from the center

off Amsterdam; lies on a side branch of the Zaan on the dike lonely and only the houseboat the Zwarte Zwaan.

It is actually also a bird hide where you are surrounded all day by songbirds such as tits, robins, wren, greenfinch, woodpeckers and yellow wagtails, and of course observe magpies, jackdaws and black crows up close; with the special feature sometimes also a sparrowhawk, buzzard or hawk along. Wild ducks, moorhen, greylag goose, white-fronted geese, herons, coots, carp, they all swim by undisturbed.

In the summer we jump into the water from the terrace to swim; In the winter we hope for to put our ice skates on; but usually it stays with cycling the Barnetocht or a round true the Jisperveld.
