Originally a working-class neighbourhood, the Jordaan has grown into one of Amsterdam’s most loved areas while still keeping its authentic character. On Saturday mornings, walk to the Noordermarkt for the famous organic Farmers’ Market. Pick up fresh bread, cheese, vegetables, flowers and local produce, have a coffee and watch the neighbourhood slowly come to life.

On Monday morning, the Noordermarkt changes character and becomes one of our favourite places to browse for vintage clothing, antiques, books, fabrics and unexpected treasures.

Everything is within walking or cycling distance: the canals, the Nine Streets, Westerkerk, cosy neighbourhood restaurants and some of Amsterdam’s best independent shops.
